What is shiatsu?
The origins lie in the traditional Chinese and Japanese health teachings. Translated, "shi" means finger and "atsu" pressure applied with fingertips, palms, elbows, knees or feet.
How is Shiatsu practiced?
Shiatsu is worn in comfortable training clothing, on a mat on the ground. It also techniques such as stretching, rotation, cupping and moxa (heating of specific points of the body) are used.
What does Shiatsu do?
The life energy (Qi) flows in our meridians. Too much, too little or jammed energy causes an imbalance that we individually perceive as fatigue, tension, nervousness, fatigue or pain. The potential of Shiatsu lies in the provision, the activation of self-healing powers and the enhancement of physical and mental well-being.
